-This is probably a stupid question, but hey. I've got a male-male VGA cable, and I'm trying to use it to plug my laptop into my TV. I think it's working alright as the computer seems to recognise the TV as a new display device, but I don't know what channel to set the TV to. I've looked through most of the channels I thought might work, but no luck :/ So what channel would I need? The PC input is the correct one. If you are getting a 'no signal' message on the display that means the vga output on your laptop isn't putting out a signal or is putting out a signal that the tv's vga input cannot recognize. Leave it on the PC input with the 'no signal' and setup your video properties again. What TV do you have (Make/Model?)
If you have a look on the back of the set where you plugged in the cable it should say what mode you need to switch the TV onto.
Most TVs have a "PC" mode but some label all inputs as EXT followed by a number.
its probably not a channel and an 'input' istead. this depends on the year of the tv but most now adays have different inputs instead of changing the channel for that.
