RCA vs headphone socket for 2.0 speakers..?

-Is there any diffrence in sound quality if you link up 2.0 speakers to your tv via the rca vs the headphone socket using RCA to phono cable?? Ive heard if you use the RCA you cant change the volume using the tv remote but if you use the headphone socket you can. Any ideas if this changes the performance of the sound quality.The RCA sockets will be better quality.



Depending on the TV you may be able to adjust the volume control via the TV volume.



My Sony TV has a Audio System setting which turns off the TV speakers and outputs the sound via RCA and lets you us the TV volume control.
