How do I make a VGA to RGB cable?

-Here is what I am trying to make, I know it's possible because there is not any hardware in between the vga connector and the RGB cords, but I don't know what pins, or in my case wires, to splice the cables on to. I have a multimeter, so just the pins I need will work.

I need to make a VGA to RGB cable to hook one of my desktop computers to my HD television, but I don't know if the method I have in mind will actually work. Last time I had a VGA cable apart, I noticed there where the cables red, green, and blue, along with thier shield wires, and I was just planning on hooking the rca cords up to each of those. My question of course is will that work? I'm not to familiar with RGB, all I know is I don't want to go buy one of these if I have the material right here at home. Please and thank you in advance!
