Can you use 2 Composite video connectors as the white and red RCA audio connectors?

-I have an abundance of yellow Composite video cables that I got rather cheaply. can I put two of them together to make an audio RCA connection?Yes - you can use Video cables for audio, but not the reverse.

"Cheap "video" cables are the same as audio cables, but with yellow plugs."

Only sometimes.

Look - have you ever gone over a speed-bump? Do it at 5 mph, no problem. Do it at 40 mph - and you destroy your car.

Video signals are much higher frequency than audio. To prevent problems like a speed bump, the input electronics on a TV have a property called "Impedance" that is specified to be 75 ohms.

All video cables are made with 75 ohm coax to match. Otherwise the video signals will hit a 'speed bump'.

Audio cables CAN be made with 75 ohm coax, but they can also be made with 50 ohm or even 300 ohm coax. And you cannot tell by looking at them what the impedance is.

So it is always safe to use video cables for audio, but not the reverse.

Hope this helps.
