Bookshelf speakers with 6.5 inch woofer that sound good and are affordable?($300 or less)?

-I listen to only rock music at medium high volumes. Powering these is a JVC 5.1 AV receiver rated @ 100 watts per channel. These don't have 6.5 inch woofers... but they're far superior to 99% of what's out there in your price range...

Very high quality speakers...

I would also recommend speakers from JBL, Whaferdale, Bowers and Wilkens, and Boston, in your price range.

Trust me, don't concern yourself with driver size... it doesn't mean much in the world of quality audio. It merely means it goes a little deeper... it doesn't mean the sound is better.

The AudioEngine's I recommended would be your best bet. They're made in the USA, and they're some of the best you can get for under $300... you can't get much better than that without breaking your budget.

BTW... the speaker pictured in my picture is one of my AudioEngine A2s... the P4s smaller siblings. They only have 2.5 inch woofers, and they rock out better than pretty much anything else in the $300 or less range (Except for the P4s). I will never sell them... ever. They're simply outstanding for the price.

Good luck
